OUR PROJECT
PROJECT TIMELINE
PHASE 1: BUILDING COMMUNITY
We have built a community of engaged individuals who have a shared cohousing vision.
PHASE 2: LAND SELECTION
We have acquired 50+ acres in Portugal Cove-St. Philip's.
PHASE 3: PARTICIPATORY DESIGN
All members have been working together to design the community, the site, the common house, and private units - everyone had a say through consensus decision making.
PHASE 4: MUNICIPAL PROCESS & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
We worked through required municipal processes, planned the further development, and we continued to build our community.
PHASE 5: CONSTRUCTION DRAWING
Working with project architects and engineers, the site, our common house and spaces, and our individual units have been designed based on Phase 3 processes.
PHASE 6: APPROVALS & PERMITS

With designs finished, the community will apply for all necessary permits and approvals.
PHASE 7: CONSTRUCTION START
Let's dig in! Once we get permits approved, construction will begin on the community.
PHASE 8: CONSTRUCTION COMPLETION
During this phase, the finishing touches on the community will be completed.
PHASE 9: MOVE IN!
As construction ends (we currently are aiming for fall 2024), members will prepare to move in! Once this phase is complete, Cohousing NL members will settle in and begin their lives in their new community.
